Wailele
"Waterfall"

It's funny that wailele means waterfall, because Wai is appropriately translated into "water." But Lele means to jump or fly. To "fall" is hā'ule, but waihā'ule sounds weird. It just goes to show the difference in the way Hawaiians see a waterfall. There seems to be a perspective of water interacting differently than falling. To all of our kumu feel free to share your mana'o please!
