He 'Āina Nani
"A Beautiful Land"

I remember this song from the #pandanusclub called "Honokahua Nani E." The song was written for the people of Ka'anapali. From the kupuna (elders) to the pōki'i (the young). Both kupuna and 'āina hold stories of the ancient past and there is so much beauty within.

During the time that the song was written, plans for development put a lot of strain on the people. More development would dig up bones and even relics. Not only would the aesthetics change, but the land's natural beauty and history would be torn up from its roots. So Honokahua Nani E was written to convey its beauty and history. It's a showcase of the natural phenomenon that we can easily take for granted in the wake up development.
